Seeking Equipment Engineers to design, procure, and sustain electrical/electronic automated equipment used in the manufacture and system functional testing of commercial airplanes. Also, to support other manual test and production equipment as needed to sustain airplane production. Work in a team environment or solo depending on project complexity. Provide real-time support to assist in troubleshooting any equipment related problems that can't be diagnosed by factory personnel.
Typical projects involve gathering requirements from project stakeholders which generally include airplane Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Metrology. Develop project scope and evaluate alternatives to make/buy. Develop specifications and/or designs using CAD system as required. Develop and debug software as required. Provide equipment documentation as required. Provide project management, including obtaining and managing project budgets.
A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out in the factory, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system. Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience(e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
