Job Duties


Client is seeking a skilled Airframe Design Engineer to support design activities related to the preparation, conversion, and release of engineering data. This position ensures compliance with company Design Manuals, Best Practices, Customer Specifications, Military Standards, internal procedures, Program Directives, and annual compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in airframe design, composite structures, and 3D modeling within an aerospace environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed, assembly, and installation 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Review design definitions to ensure compliance with applicable requirements and standards
  • Perform detail design assignments under the direction of a technical lead
  • Research engineering data and develop technical solutions
  • Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and specialty teams to resolve design and production issues
  • Execute assignments in alignment with program schedule and cost requirements
  • Provide Manufacturing Engineering support during fabrication and assembly
  • Support supplier activities and technical coordination
  • Contribute innovative solutions through technical analysis and collaboration
  • Travel to suppliers as required based on assignment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in airframe design or aircraft fuel system design (multiple experience levels considered)
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience with composite materials
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5, V6, 3DX, or SolidWorks
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering preferred)
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as ENOVIA
  • Familiarity with Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Maintenance processes

This is an on-site position located in Fort Worth, Texas. Occasional travel to suppliers may be required.
