Job Duties

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing advanced manufacturing processes to support the creation of innovative products. You will work closely with engineering teams, operate cutting-edge 3D composites processing equipment, and research novel materials and technologies to drive innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute trial plans to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Create new products using advanced composites, textiles, coatings, foams, and additive manufacturing technologies.
  • Provide hands-on support to manufacturing and process engineers by working directly with 3D composites processing equipment.
  • Analyze test data from newly developed products and raw materials to inform process improvements.
  • Advance Technical Readiness Levels (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL).
  • Document processing conditions, test results, and other critical-to-quality (CTQ) data.
  • Conduct material characterizations to support Finite Element Analysis (FEA) modeling.
  • Research and evaluate new composite materials and innovative manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as part of the Quality System.

Job Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Extensive experience in mold design and fabrication, as well as knowledge of casting parts using two-part chemistries.
  • Proficiency in composites, textiles, foams, coatings, and other processing equipment.
  • Experience with materials testing equipment and methodologies.
  • Eagerness to learn and explore advanced 3D composites, textile processes, and additive manufacturing technologies.
  • Familiarity with advanced fiber placement systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to create and interpret 3D models is highly desired.

Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering or related fields.
