Position Summary:

The Resource Planner is responsible for the efficient allocation of manufacturing resources, ensuring the seamless creation and maintenance of process planning. This role involves managing Bills of Materials (BOM) consumption, creating Computer Aided Planning (CAP) routings, and handling manufacturing items orders within Bell's business systems. While the role does not require the creation and maintenance of 2D manufacturing instructions when a Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) model is available, it does demand a solid understanding of shop production and processing operations.

The Resource Planner will work in accordance with management strategies, program goals, and departmental processes using Bell Business Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BOM Management:

    • Accurately manage and consume Bills of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing operations.
    • Create and maintain proper work sequence documentation and CAP routings.
  • Manufacturing Items Orders:

    • Generate manufacturing items orders/requests, including but not limited to NC Programs, Tools/Fixtures, and Gages.
    • Support manufacturing operations through production order maintenance and tool maintenance requests.
  • Process Planning:

    • Provide process planning support to manufacturing operations, including liaison functions related to production order maintenance.
    • Create and maintain dimensional charts, manufacturing instructions (both text-based and 2D format), material operation diagrams, and ply tables as required.
  • Technical Documentation:

    • Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various engineering drawings, models, BOMs, technical specifications, quality documents, and Bell Process Frameworks.
    • Maintain accurate records and schedules of assigned work, meeting established cost control standards, schedule, and quality requirements.
  • Producibility Assessments & Technical Support:

    • Support producibility assessments when requested.
    • Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management.
  • Communication & Collaboration:

    • Execute strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
    • Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge to train, direct, instruct, and validate Production Engineering work.
