Overview

We are seeking a Stress Engineer to join our aviation manufacturing team in Wichita, KS. In this role, you will be responsible for performing structural analysis and stress calculations for new and existing aircraft components and assemblies. Your work will contribute to safe and efficient aircraft designs, supporting our commitment to quality, innovation, and compliance with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Structural Analysis:
    • Perform detailed stress analysis (static, fatigue, and damage tolerance) on aircraft structures using classical hand calculation methods and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Design Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with design engineers to optimize component designs for weight, strength, and performance requirements.
  • Material Selection:
    • Recommend appropriate materials and manufacturing processes based on stress requirements, cost considerations, and project timelines.
  • Compliance & Certification:
    • Ensure designs comply with relevant aviation regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA) and collaborate with certification authorities throughout the approval process.
  • Documentation:
    • Generate clear and concise technical reports, stress notes, and other documentation to capture analysis results and support internal and external reviews.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities to enhance analysis methods, tools, and practices, contributing to increased efficiency and reliability in the engineering process.
  • Collaboration & Mentoring:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., manufacturing, quality, supply chain) to resolve technical issues.
    • Share technical knowledge and mentor junior team members.
