Job Duties

• The ability to read and use design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications
• Stripping, chemical cleaning, repair, and covering of flat panels, bulkheads, and seat panels
• Work with fabric, vinyl, leather hides, composites, and other materials using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools, and various power tools
• Cut and surge carpets
• Layout and inspect leather hider defects
• Trace and cut out seat patterns
• Installation of window panels, headliners, upper sidewalls, lower sidewalls, and baggage panels in aircraft
• May sew and upholster covers using designs, engineering drawings, and aircraft specifications
• Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvement techniques that increase safety, reduce costs, cycle time, and man hours
• Ensure protection of aircraft interiors in and outside the aircraft
• Comply with safety and housekeeping policies and use personal protective equipment (PPE)as required by C&L
• Use material tracking system to issue parts to the correct work order task and sign off work
• Ensure protection of aircraft interiors in and outside the aircraft

Job Qualifications

• 5+ Years of Experience of Aviation Upholstery Experience
• Must be able to sew with knowledge of various styles of stitching
• Must also have experience with cutting leather and fabric, covering or applying upholstery, lay-out and covering experience.
