Job Duties

Wire and assemble aircraft cabinets and associated components/wire switch panels and various aircraft overhead and cabinet panels. Troubleshoot and repair as needed using common hand tools, electrical tools, and test instruments.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret and follow complex wiring diagrams and schematics
  • Route and shape wires for harness build-up
  • Utilize standard wire binding devices in harness fabrication and installation
  • Perform pin-to-pin continuity/power checks on AC and DC systems using volt/ohm meters for fault isolation and repair
  • Perform harness manufacturing, installation, and termination per specified data and standards
  • Solder electrical components following DFJC standards
  • Install avionics AC and DC audio and video components in aircraft cabinets and ensure correct operation
  • Wire aircraft water systems and ensure proper operation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Able to use all hand tools, electrical crimping tools, and soldering tools
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the use of volt/ohm meters and other test instruments
  • Minimum of three (3) years of avionics/electrical experience or equivalent education
  • Ability to define wire colors and hand/eye coordination to perform required tasks
  • Able to interpret and follow complex wiring diagrams, blueprints, charts, and schematics
  • Demonstrated soldering skills per inspection procedures manual, quality control manual, and applicable FED standards
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Visual capacity and muscular dexterity to secure harnesses with clamps and work on fine detail, high-cost products with minimal errors and rework

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Aircraft electrical/avionics experience
  • Degree in Engineering Electronics Technology or Electronics Technology
  • FCC license
  • Ability to solve practical problems when needed
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
