Job Duties

Under general supervision, this position will interface with and support all Bell facilities, suppliers, and government agencies with tool control and accountability, including data management, reporting, and schedule packages. Responsibilities include:

  • Determining and executing efficient processes using systems and tooling databases to create, track, and maintain control systems to protect and preserve Government/BHTI-owned tooling assets.
  • Creating, tracking, and maintaining tooling scrap schedules.
  • Maintaining official government property records per Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Government contract terms by researching tool usage requirements, updating Federal Condition Codes, and reporting status to internal departments.
  • Providing data support for annual Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) audits.
  • Coordinating with Manufacturing Engineering (M.E.) Projects for tooling Work Order maintenance and creation.
  • Screening "SET-POOL" tools and transferring them to active government contracts.
  • Directing contract closure activities for tooling inventories and transferring them to follow-on contracts, while ensuring supplier tooling inventory audit accuracy with Supply Chain Management or Government Property Accounting.
  • Updating tooling databases based on internal inventory results and resolving discrepancies.
  • Providing Planning Departments with "Lost Tool Notifications."
  • Performing all duties associated with the role of a Tool Expeditor.

Job Qualifications

Experience, Education & Other Requirements

  • At least two years of college education or equivalent work experience, with a general knowledge of Special Tooling (ST) applications and Manufacturing Engineering processes.
  • Ability to apply Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) to BHTI policies and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Bell tooling databases and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities.
