Job Duties

Your duties include:

• Maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures, structural components and engines of complex to extreme difficulty
• Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation
• Reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
• Performs 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections, examines reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions, such as sticking or burnt valves, inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments
• Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction
• Maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components
• Job duties require that this mechanic:
• Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufactures' manuals
• Applies a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems
• Applies detailed knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers, etc. is required.
• Applies the experience and ability to provide technical support to structural/mechanical engineers and customers alike
• Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections
• Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes

Job Duties

Performs avionics and electrical systems maintenance according to FCC, FAA and Company Policies and Regulations. Troubleshoots, tests, repairs and installs avionics components such as aircraft communication, navigation, radar and electronic instrument systems. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs routine or special maintenance inspections to prevent failure of aircraft electrical and avionic systems and components; performs complete operational and functional checks on navigation, communication and flight control systems, including instrumentation and pilot static installations, etc.  Fabricates wiring harnesses, installs/modifies avionic and electrical systems.
• Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; decides upon necessary repair scheme and quantity and type of parts needed to accomplish proper repair; secures same from Stores or departmental supplies.
• Follows approved maintenance procedures for subject component or system, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturer's (OEM's) technical data, and work package instructions.
• Inspects completed work before sign off to identify any needed rework and performs rework; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
• Performs serviceability tests on repaired components/systems using test equipment specified by the original equipment manufacturer.
• Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing all designated operations.
• Performs installation of digital avionic equipment.

• Performs routine inspections or special maintenance to prevent failures of aircraft mechanical systems and components; performs complete operations checks on hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, plumbing, precision assemblies, rigging and controls, etc.
• Determines when a component should be repaired or replaced; decides upon necessary repair scheme, quantity and type of parts needed to accomplish proper repair; secures necessary parts from Stores or departmental supplies.
• Repairs, reworks, and modifies worn or defective assemblies, making alterations or changes to units when necessary.
• Follows approved maintenance procedures for subject component or system, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturer's (OEM's) technical data, and work package instructions.
