Job Duties
- Following established procedures, responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
- Perform manual/automatic welding, tacking, weld repairing at 1G (flat) on plates or pipes, ensuring proper penetration and fusion; heat straightening at flat or horizontal position.
- Read technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to understand specifications.
- Select, set up, and maintain welding equipment (e.g., manual TIG, JetLine, AMI, Robot, EBW, Laser Welding)
- Clean, cut, bend, and clamp or tack-weld components into position.
- Monitor weld quality during and after welding to ensure compliance with code requirements, using visual inspection to check for defects. Help troubleshooting if needed.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Repair existing equipment and perform minor repairs on welding machinery.
- May perform other related responsibilities.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must demonstrate knowledge in TIG welding by successfully passing AWS D17.1 1G weld test:
- 0.063” SS321, butt joint at 1G position
- 0.063” Hast-X, butt joint at 1G position
- Welds must pass visual inspection, FPI, and X-Ray testing
- Must pass weld defects visual inspection test
- Experience with semi-automatic/orbital welders preferred
- Must demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and be willing to work effectively as a participative team member in a dynamic team-oriented environment.
- Ability to read, write and understand instructions, procedures, drawings and blueprints.
- Must possess a high level of manual dexterity, sound and reliable judgment and a willingness to learn.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to accurately perform moderately complex mathematical calculations.
- Ability to learn/perform basic computer operations.
- May be required to lift up to 35 lbs.
