Job Duties
- Perform troubleshooting, inspections, and maintenance on commercial aircraft
- Complete routine and non-routine repairs in compliance with FAA and customer standards
- Interpret maintenance manuals and technical specifications to determine repair methods
- Remove and replace aircraft components, engines, and flight controls
- Perform maintenance tasks including:
- Bolting
- Torquing
- Rigging
- Safety wiring
- Complete and attach parts tags for repairable, serviceable, or condemned parts per repair station guidelines
- Return aircraft to service using company logbooks and authorized documentation
- Work under the direction of Production Supervisors
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on heavy maintenance experience on transport or regional jets
- Previous experience working in a FAR Part 145 Repair Station
- Boeing 737 Classic and Next Generation experience preferred
Training & Tool Requirements
- Contractors will not receive full listed wages during the first 3 days due to training
- Mechanics must provide tools listed on the required tool list
- All calibrated tools must be obtained through the Tool Crib
- Personal calibrated tools are not permitted
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to travel as needed for off-site maintenance support
- Ability to work at heights up to 80 feet
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces while wearing respiratory equipment
- Ability to bend, crawl, twist, and maintain physical positions for extended periods
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Additional Requirements
- 10-year background check required
- 5-year employment verification must be completed prior to start date
- No testing required for incoming A&P Mechanics
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of aircraft maintenance experience in:
- Commercial airline operations, or
- MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) environments
- High school diploma or equivalent
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required
- Working knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems
- Basic understanding of FAA CFR Part 145 Repair Station operations
- Experience using:
- Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM)
- Overhaul Manuals
- Service Bulletins
- Airworthiness Directives
- Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPC)
- Structural Repair Manuals (SRM)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency
Facility Description
Client in Wilmington, OH is a four hangar facility with 315,000 sq. ft. located at a CAT III classified airport. Located on site in Wilmington, is a 100,000 sq. ft. Component Repair/Overhaul facility that provides 12,000+ line item repair capability including composites, avionics, wheels, brakes, wire-harness, paint, and heat treat capabilities. This client's customers receive the support of a Manufacturing division that produces repair parts per FAR 121, replacement part manufacturing per OEM requirements and owner operator parts. Through Reverse Engineering, Client is able to manufacture parts with our Quick Turn Manufacturing to meet customer and maintenance requirements. Material Services is a 40,000 sq. ft. facility marketing parts domestically and internationally.
