Job Duties
- Lead maintenance projects independently, ensuring work is completed efficiently and within established timelines
- Assign daily tasks to technicians based on skill level and experience to optimize productivity
- Train and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on complex tasks and documenting OJT using Form TP04
- Coordinate with Materials, Inspection, and Maintenance Control to ensure availability of parts, tools, and resources to meet RTS schedules
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and inspections of aircraft systems; clearly communicate findings and required corrective actions
- Maintain direct communication with Maintenance Control to provide status updates and align on RTS priorities and timelines
- Identify and mitigate high-risk tasks that may impact on-time RTS while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance
- Conduct in-process inspections in collaboration with the Inspection Department to ensure accuracy and adherence to company and FAA standards
- Support final inspections and complete return-to-service (RTS) sign-offs in compliance with CFRs and internal procedures
- Maintain thorough knowledge of Title 14 CFR, inspection procedures, and maintenance standards to ensure regulatory compliance
- Apply working knowledge of MEL and NEF guidelines in maintenance and repair activities
- Perform engine ground runs and taxi operations as authorized; support team members as needed
- Ensure all maintenance records, log entries, and corrective actions are accurately documented in Corridor in accordance with FAR Part 43
- Demonstrate proficiency in Level I and II technician responsibilities while providing leadership and oversight
- Assist leads and supervisors with additional maintenance-related tasks as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License (14 CFR Part 65) required
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, including CFRs, FAR Part 43, MEL/NEF guidelines, and inspection procedures
- Advanced troubleshooting skills in aircraft mechanical and electrical systems
- Proven ability to independently lead projects and manage complex maintenance tasks
- Experience performing final inspections and returning aircraft to service (RTS) in compliance with FAA standards
- Proficiency in aircraft and engine maintenance manuals (AMM, SRM, IPC, CMM, etc.)
Technical & Operational Skills
- Experience with maintenance tracking systems (Corridor required; CMP/CAMP preferred)
- Ability to accurately complete maintenance records and log entries
- Competency in performing engine ground runs and supporting high-risk maintenance tasks
- Strong coordination skills to ensure parts, tools, and resources are available without impacting schedules
- Ability to work closely with Maintenance Control and cross-functional teams
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Ability to train, mentor, and document technician progress (OJT records)
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
Additional Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions
