Job Duties

Following established procedures, responsibilities may include some or all the following:
• Properly set up and operate manual and automatic welding systems per work instructions and good welding
practices.
• Positions and adjusts fixtures, attachments, or workpiece on machine, using visual acuity, hand tools and
measuring devices.
• Adjust, within procedural limits, to fine-tune the process to achieve conformance standards.
• Read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols, and quality requirements.
• Performs proper pre-weld cleaning and handling of parts.
• Inspects hardware to ensure specifications are met, by visual inspection and measuring devices.
• Maintain a high level of performance while following appropriate procedures and observing all pertinent
safety rules and requirements.
• Maintain work area and equipment in an organized, clean, and FOD-free manner.
• Obtain and maintain all required qualifications and certifications in all appropriate metals.
• Ability to perform set-up and troubleshooting of weld equipment.
• Understand general and weld specific safety issues.
• Provide guidance to less experienced welders as necessary.
• Assist with skill development, safety, and other training of welders.
• Work with Engineering as needed to develop weld processes and resolve weld issues.
• Troubleshoot all weld equipment working in a team environment to maintain operational needs.

Job Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 8+ years of welding or related experience or demonstrated ability to perform the described
  • responsibilities.
  • Able to become certified to AWS D17.1.2001.
  • Able to read and understand product and process drawings, procedures, weld symbols and quality
  • requirements.
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
  • Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
