Position Summary

The Quality Operations Specialist ensures that manufacturing processes and inspection methods meet or exceed customer quality expectations. This role provides technical support to quality and engineering teams, contributes to planning reviews, and develops quality inspection documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update First Article Inspection (FAI) plans and Quality Inspection Instructions (QIIs) for complex composite, machined metal parts, and rotor system components.

  • Serve as a Quality representative on the Planning Review Board.

  • Ensure configuration management compliance through auditing, evaluation, and tracking.

  • Collaborate with end users, customers, and subcontractors to resolve a range of technical and quality-related issues.

  • Support both new aircraft development and legacy products, while contributing to the implementation of advanced quality technologies.

Job Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred.

  • Equivalent technical training and/or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in quality assurance, preferably in aerospace manufacturing. Equivalent experience in aviation manufacturing planning is acceptable.

  • Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for machined and composite parts.

  • In-depth understanding of AS9100/AS9102 standards and First Article Inspection planning.

  • Experience creating Quality Inspection Instructions and integrating inspection points into manufacturing planning.

  • Proficiency in interpreting complex 3D models using Catia V6 & 3DX for quality planning activities.

  • Familiarity with MES systems, including CAMS, SAP ECC, and SAP PEO.

  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills.
