What to Do in St. Augustine

Probably the most famous thing to see while in St Augustine is Castillo de San Marcos, built by the Spanish 450 years ago to defend Florida and the Atlantic trade route. It is now maintained by the National Parks Service where they offer daily self-guided tours. After strolling along the walls of the historic fort head over to St Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum. Built in 1874 and standing 165 feet tall you can climb 219 stairs to the top and take in all the spectacular views of the area. They offer nighttime guided ghost tours as well.
